Glory_to_God_logoWe Welcome Our New PCUSA Hymnal!

On November 1, All Saints Day, we will dedicate our new PCUSA hymnals to the glory and worship of God.  We are excited by this new hymnal, which our organ builder, George Payne, called one of the best and most comprehensive representations of hymnody he has seen in any denomination.

While our 200 hymnals have been purchased, we hope to recoup the $4000.00 cost through hymnal dedications in order that our music ministry funds may be replenished for the purchase of  music and the hiring of guest musicians.

If you wish to dedicate a hymnal in honor or in memory of someone, the cost of a hymnal is $20.  A commemorative booksplate will be placed in the hymnal.  Please use the pdf link below to view and print the dedication order form.  Return the form and your payment to the church office.

Several children and adults from NWPC will attend the annual Worship and Music Conference at Montreat from June 21 – 26.  This conference is attended by people from all over the world and marks the 15th conference attended by members of NWPC.  During the week, members participate in classes dealing with leadership in worship, including handbells, choral music, instrumental music, bible study, liturgical dance, art & drama as well as attending daily worship service.

It’s a wonderful week of creativity and learning, for the purpose of sharing with the congregation of NWPC in our worship services.  The theme of the 2015 Conference is “You Are My Beloved,” journeying through the time after Epiphany, from Baptism of the Lord to Transfiguration. Through daily worship, workshops, classes and rehearsals, this often neglected season of the church year will be given a closer look as we delve into its riches.  Unique to this conference will be discussion of the church’s ministry through weddings, examination of proposed revisions to the Directory for Worship, classes to help the church learn how to welcome people with physical and intellectual disabilities, and more.  Attendance to this conference is sponsored by the Music Program of NWPC.
